Oreecal finds herself back in Ponyville after being released by Myran. Having been told not to bother looking for Baaron, she listened. She had thought about it and came to the conclusion that no one in Ponyville liked her because of her village, and that she was ruinig Baaron’s chances at being a free pony with her hanging around.
“Now what…?”
-you stumble across Daiki- oof!
Okay, folks, lemme introduce you to my family!
((OOC: Brace yourselves. Giant text blocks are coming. If you don’t want to read them, here’s the short version:
Left to right: Creamsicle (brother), Rudy “Rootbeer” Fizz (grandfather), Ginger Ale (father), and Softswirl (mother).
Sorry for how long this took to make. I never fully realized how hard making things digitally without a tablet is until now. I was planning on doing more just-Citrus stuff, but the brony who asked me the question kinda got me excited to introduce the family.))
Big brother Creamsicle is the one on the left. He’s the one in charge of ice cream around here, since that’s his biggest passion… well, that and trying to woo every cute mare that walks in the door. He’s a real softie (and a bit of a dork) underneath that “suave” and aloof front he puts up to try and impress the mares. Even though he can be a bit of an arse sometimes, he’s still the best big brother I can ask for and he always makes time to share floats with me.
Grandpappy Rootbeer is next to Creamsicle. Rudy Fizz is his real name, but he changed it to what he loves most: Rootbeer. He’s descended from a long line of soda makers, so he founded the Frosty Mug (with my granny “Sassy” Sasparilla) as a soda parlor before my dad was even born. But Grandpappy handed over the reins to me and my brother once we were old enough, since his body has gotten too weak to do some of the more rigorous parts of running the parlor and our parents are too busy to run it themselves. Grandpappy’s body also kinda shrunk with age, but his heartiness and energetic spirit haven’t. That’s my Grandpappy, still as sharp and witty as ever!
Daddy’s the big colt to the right of Grandpappy. His name is Ginger Ale. He’s the one who makes the soda we sell, though I usually help him when I have the chance to spare a hoof. He’s also supposed to keep Grandpappy’s antics in check, but he usually ends up going along with them. He’s a bit of a goofball, but it’s that sort of goofy, slightly clumsy charm that makes him endearing to everypony he meets.
Mommy’s the one on the far left. Her name is Softswirl, and she’s as sweet as the ice cream she makes for our shop. Her love, nurture, and support is what really keeps our family together. She’s also the reason we sell ice cream, since that’s her family’s trade. Creamsicle takes after her in his rarely-shown soft side and his love of ice cream. Mommy keeps the shop (and Grandpappy) in line and running smoothly, though she’s shy and never takes credit for it.
If you like Icecream follow her!
“Marceline’s Closet” Score
Good news. Adventure Time composer Casey James Basichis has uploaded to his SoundCloud the score to the “Marceline’s Closet” episode. It’s all good stuff, but despite Marcie’s proclamation of “No one can hear it. Ever,” you’ll especially want to check out her feature beginning at 3.33. Sung by Olivia Olson, the song was written by board artist Jesse Moynihan who writes on his website:
[The song] was loosely inspired by the composer Louis Andreissen’s piece “De Staat”, except dumbed down. Basically I tried to write the kind of thing that I’ve never heard on tv before. I kept a consistent beat throughout, but didn’t let the melody repeat in any way. It’s sort of a wandering, linear phrase with all the instruments reinforcing Olivia Olson’s vocals in unison.
After recording the demo I got really nervous about it, and wrote an alternate song that was straight pop. Funny enough, Pen didn’t seem to go for the second one and liked the first, super weird one. I ended up using the pop song for my band Make A Rising on our album that we’re working on right now
Thanks, Jesse, Casey, and Olivia.
